These terms apply to labs.laan.com, the website of Laan Labs (“we”). By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. Questions can be sent to labs@laan.com.

What this site is

The site describes our services, our apps and our work, and publishes articles and case studies. It is provided for general information. Nothing on it is an offer to provide services on particular terms, and nothing on it is legal, regulatory, medical or engineering advice.

Our content

The text, images, videos and other material on this site belong to Laan Labs or to the people who licensed them to us, and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may view the site, link to it, and quote short passages with attribution. Please ask before reproducing substantial parts of it. Images credited to other people are used under the licences named in their captions and remain theirs.

Laan Labs and the names and logos of our apps are our trademarks. The names of other companies and products mentioned on the site belong to their owners, and mentioning them does not imply their endorsement.

Open-source projects and code samples

Some of our projects are published as open source. Each is governed by the licence in its own repository, and that licence, not these terms, sets out what you may do with the code. Code shown in articles is provided as illustration, without warranty.

Apps

Apps published by Laan Labs are governed by the terms shown in the store you get them from, and by any licence agreement provided with the app. Purchases, subscriptions and refunds for apps are handled by the app store under its own policies.

Client work and licensing

Consulting, development and technology licensing are provided under a separate written agreement with each client. These terms do not create a client relationship, and the descriptions of services on this site do not form part of any such agreement.

Acceptable use

Please do not use the site in a way that breaks the law, that interferes with its operation or security, or that attempts to gain access to systems or data you are not authorized to reach. Do not use the contact form to send unsolicited advertising.

Information you send us

Please do not send us confidential information through the contact form unless we have agreed how it will be handled. How we treat personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

Links to other sites

The site links to websites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content or their practices.

No warranty

We try to keep the site accurate and up to date, but it is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. Figures such as accuracy, performance and timing describe typical or intended results and depend on the device, the conditions and the project. They are not guarantees.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Laan Labs is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of this site or from reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes

We may update these terms. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
